Welcome to

On the beautiful and fertil plain
between Gredos Sierra and the Mounts of Toledo lies the
typical Manchegan town of Talavera de la Reina, through
which the Tajo flows. It is 118 km. from Madrid, 84km.
from Toledo and 90km. from Ávila. In fact It lies
on the route between the North and the South of the Peninsula.
It is also in the middle of the so-called "France-Portugal
Avenue", that is the reason why Talavera has excellent
communications.
In 181 B.C. was Known as Aebura, at that time Carpetans
and Vettones were fighting against Romans, who were lead
by Q. Fulvius Faccus- that is what Tito Livio has told
us-. Later on when Mérida became the capital of
Lusitania, Talavera was a place where the traveller, who
wanted to go to Rome, could rest. Then our city was called
Caesarobriga.
